Each school was judged in three categories and the prizes were gifts the winning children could give to their mum on Mothers' Day. The first prize flowers were sponsored by Bunnings, Seven Hills.
At John Palmer Public School a Mothers' Day Breakfast was held at the school, sponsored by The Ponds Community Development Program with the support of the P & C and Stanhope Anglican Church. Nearly 300 mums and children enjoyed pancakes, fruit, muffins and croissants. The competition winners were announced and awarded during the event, with many mums being present to receive their gifts.
